Get Ready America!

All over America, we hear the call of preparation.  We spend years working toward college entrance and securing financial success.  We plan for retirements and vacations and obtaining the American dream.  We plan individually and as groups; but, in the midst of all of this, are we planning for greatness?

At the Better Detroit Youth Movement, we are preparing for an upcoming youth expo (National Better (...) Youth Expo) in May of 2014.  Baltimore is scheduled for May 2015 and Brooklyn in 2016.  Plans are made to reach an audience of over one million individuals with a positive message about our youth and our metropolitan area.  Tours are being developed which feature points of interest like our unique history, diverse cultures, sports and entertainment options, and rich legacy of middle class development among others.  Yet, our most ambitious plan is to promote the greatness of our youth all across the nation and we need your help.

For our youth, this means becoming a Youth Ambassador and representing your area through greatness.  It means being a leader and speaking positively on behalf of youth activities and guiding others toward greatness.  This means being dedicated toward self improvement and continuously improving your surroundings.  It means being a part of a community organization focused on actualizing your potential.

For our businesses and community partners, greatness is demonstrated through advocacy of youth programs such as donations, mentoring, collaborations, offering internships and valuing the contributions youth have for the health and welfare of each of our communities.  Our youth have a powerful impact on the success of our futures and we should always keep that in mind.

Finally, for our guests and visitors, greatness means taking away from our city ideas and opportunities to share positive stories about your experience with the city and its Youth Ambassadors.  Greatness means continuing to network with youth in your own communities and building them up toward more positive outcomes.  It means bettering the youth in this continuous movement.  It means joining us on this expo and expanding it to an area near you.
